IF YOUR GONNA BE FISHING SOFT PLASTICS ONLY WITH THEM RODS Y NOT USE FLOROCARBON IT WILL SINK FASTER AND GIVE BETTER BITE DETECTION. JUST MY OWN OPINION.

i tried florocarbon and didn't like it, mostly the way it casts, could have been the pole also, light action with fast tip, stiff rod from bass pro, might have worked better with a slower softer tip pole, dunno

I agree do not like fluro. I use 12lb max. In Mass that's all you need for fresh. Once you hit 14lb test or better it greatly reduces the action of swim baits, it's useless with soft baits. Anything more than 12lb test in mono is only good for jigs. Braid is another story. With braid you can use 30lb without problems but casting lighter stuff is impossible unless you use 10lb mono or lighter, in which case I would recommend spinning reels. Baitcasters 10 or 12 lb test. Sorry about the long post, you pay by the word?
